mingw32-make: *** [Makefile:849: ../binary/NetHack.exe] Error 1
DEFINE_KNOWN_FOLDER is using this particular definition in the mingw
header files:
rather than this one:
So, the known folder values that recent code is using such as
FOLDERID_ProgramData, FOLDERID_LocalAppData, and FOLDERID_Profile are
being declared as external constants.
That is why the error is a link error. We need to include -luuid on
the link command line because those external constants are defined
in uuid.lib.
mingw-w64 sys/winnt/Makefile.gcc required a Windows version bump from
0x0501 to 0x0601 (XP level to Windows 7 level) during compile in
order for the mingw system header files to include some of the
needed support for recent Windows port changes.
make typedef of boolean match mingw header files
link with shell32 and ole32 as Makefile.msc now had to do
kludge some stuff missing from mingw headers in sys/winnt/windmain.c
Still not quite there yet though.
Focusing on tty (maybe curses) right now.
The gui has had significant code deviation from
prior gcc builds for windows and will take more
work.
BUG REPORT:
comments:
1. I start a new character.
2. The first command I type is '&'
3. I type "?" and "<enter key>" at the prompt.
4. Cannot open "keyhelp" data file!--More--

Adjust the code and the command line Makefile so that
you no longer have to choose whether to build the tty
version NetHack.exe, or the gui version NetHackW.exe.
Both will now be built in a single 'nmake install' pass.
Tested on the unix port; I've updated as many other ports as I can figure
out but they're not tested. See window.doc for info on the changed banner
lines. Also adds the ability to override the generic "Unix" port - used now to get
"MacOSX" into the version line instead of "Unix" (so we don't scare people who don't
know what's going on).
infrastructure for "system options" - things currently specified at build
time that should be changeable at install time or run time but not really
under user control
generalize contact info so it can be localized and it doesn't have to be
an email address
move recently introduced WIZARDS into sysopt
drop bogus OPTIONS=wizards possibility
new function build_english_list() to comma-ize and add 'or' from a whitespace separated list: A. A or B. A, B, or C.
syscf file now handles: WIZARDS SUPPORT RECOVER
SUPPORT specifies local support information
RECOVER will eventually supply port-specific and/or localized info on how
to run recover (or get it run for you).
Note: in sys/msdos I changed sys.o (generated from pcsys.c) to pcsys.o
Note: sys/msdos/Makefile.GCC has 2 rules for sys.o (now pcsys.o)
