c2ddd2a7c2 Fix some object weight problems
There were few places where the object weight was not updated:

- container when the contents were broken by impact
- starting to eat but getting stopped by rotten food
- using lua, container when putting an object inside it
- when a single egg of a larger stack hatched

98d2b0ecb3 Follow up on disturbing buried zombies
Change 852f8e4 by requiring a minimum impact before a buried zombie
nearby will be disturbed: light, but still excluding things like
scrolls, if it's a violent impact (dropped while levitating, thrown, or
kicked), and fairly heavy if the hero is just placing the item on the
ground normally.

Moving the call out of flooreffects meant it no longer applied to
pushing boulders around, so have moverock disturb nearby zombies. I
additionally had wake_nearby do the same thing.

Finally, I renamed check_buried_zombies (which doesn't really reflect
what it does) to disturb_buried_zombies.

fbd9a7bae8 another update to the soundlib interface
sound_verbal(char *text, int32_t gender, int32_t tone, int32_t vol,
             int32_t moreinfo);
-- NetHack will call this function when it wants to pass text of
spoken language by a character or creature within the game.
-- text is a transcript of what has been spoken.
-- gender indicates MALE or FEMALE sounding voice.
-- tone indicates the tone of the voice.
-- vol is the volume (1% - 100%) for the sound.
-- moreinfo is used to provide additional information to the soundlib.
-- there may be some accessibility uses for this function.

It may be useful for accessibility purposes too.

A preliminary implementation has been attempted for macsound to test
the interface on macOS. No tinkering of the voices has been done.

Use of the test implementation requires the following at build time with make.
    WANT_SPEECH=1
That needs to be included on the make command line to enable the test code,
otherwise just the interface update is compiled in.

I don't know for certain when AVSpeechSynthesizer went into macOS, but older versions
likely don't support it, and would just leave off the WANT_SPEECH=1.

If built with WANT_SPEECH=1, the 'voices' NetHack option needs to be enabled.

It was a bit strange, when I first started up the test, to hear Asidonhopo,
the shopkeeper, talking to me as I entered his shop and interacted with him.

c5aad9fe56 reimplement pull request #944 - grave contents
Pull request from entrez: if bones left dead hero's corpse on top
of a new grave, don't find a corpse or summon a zombie when digging
the grave up. It also removed the chance that a ghoul might be
summoned when engraving on a headstone, switching to zombie or mummy
instead.

Rather than adopting the pull request, this retains summoning a
ghoul via engraving and adds the possibly of doing so when kicking
a headstone. Having a ghoul prowl around the grave is independent
of whether there is a corpse or zombie inside the grave. To achieve
this, another flag in 'struct rm' is needed; the single bit for
'disturbed' isn't sufficient. The bigger 'flags' field wasn't in
use for graves so commandeer that for new 'emptygrave'. 'disturbed'
still uses the 'horizontal' bit in order to have engraving and/or
kicking summon at most one ghoul.

Closes #944

8bbe9282aa add soundeffects hooks to core
Insert the calls to trigger a number of potential soundeffects
into the core.

If no additional soundlib support is integrated into the
build, then the Soundeffect macro (sndprocs.h) expands to nothing:

[#define Soundeffect(seid, vol)
]

If, however, at least one additional soundlib support is integrated
into the build, then the Soundeffect macro gets defined as this
in sndprocs.h:

[#define Soundeffect(seid, vol) \
    do { \
        if (!Deaf && soundprocs.sound_soundeffect                     \
            && ((soundprocs.sndcap & SNDCAP_SOUNDEFFECTS) != 0))      \
            (*soundprocs.sound_soundeffect)(emptystr, (seid), (vol)); \
    } while(0)
]

That macro definition checks for the hero not being Deaf; it checks
to ensure that the active soundlib interface has a non-null
sound_soundeffect() function pointer; and it checks to ensure
that the active soundlib interface has declared that it supports
soundeffects by setting the SNDCAP_SOUNDEFFECTS bit in its sndcap
entry. That just means that the interface routines are prepared to
accept and deal with the calls from the core, whether or not it
actually produces the desired soundeffect.

02a48aa8cf split g into multiple structures
The consolidation of global variables from scattered source
files into decl.c and declared in decl.h was begun in 3.7.0.
Their placement in common files was done for centralized
initialization and potential re-initialization during a
"play again" scenario.

It wasn't really necessary for all of them to be housed in a
single huge structure to meet the "play again" requirement,
and the single huge structure has been a little unwieldy when
it comes to maintenance.

Following this commit, instead of one single extremely large structure
named 'g' to house all of the relocated global variables, they
are distributed into several ga through gz.

To make things easy for the developer, each variable is placed
into the struct corresponding to the starting letter of the variable.
That way, no lookup is required in order to know which struct houses
a particular variable, it is a simple match to the starting letter
for all the centralized global variables.

A global variable named 'amulets', would be found in ga.
    ga.amulets
     ^ ^
A global varable named 'move', would be found in gm.
    gm.moves
     ^ ^
A global variable named 'val_for_n_or_more' would be found in gv.
    gv.val_for_n_or_more
     ^ ^

e64ed2859d unpaid object: sanity check, teleporting, 'I u'
It turns out that there are some objects marked unpaid that aren't
carried by the hero, so the recent sanity check for unpaid/no_charge
could complain. Unpaid items dropped on the shop boundary (gap in
shop wall, doorway, shk's free spot) stayed unpaid when dropped onto
the floor, similar to recent change for pushed shop-owned boulders.
Don't give sanity complaints for those. They could be all the way
inside a shop too, where unpaid items in a gap in the shop wall got
pushed into the shop when the wall was repaired. (Possibly those
should come off the bill instead of remaining unpaid.)

Teleporting items out of a shop was marking them unpaid instead of
treating that as robbery. That's a bug caught by the sanity check.
rloco() was also marking shop items which got teleported from one
spot inside the shop to another spot inside the same shop as unpaid.
Fix both of those things. Also, if an unpaid item on the boundary
gets teleported all the way inside, take it off the bill.

Change 'I u' to mention whether there are additional unpaid items on
the floor somewhere since they won't be part of unpaid inventory and
they're not on the used-up bill either. It might occasionally help
the player figure out why the shopkeeper won't let the hero out of
the shop.

b07fe59b3c attack/damage by trapper and lurker above
Change trappers and lurkers above to remove digestion damage. They
fold themselves around rather than swallow the victim. There were
are lot of places that assumed that an engulfer which is an animal
would swallow and digest the victim. In hindsight, it might have
been simpler to take the M1_ANIMAL flag off of trappers and lurkers
above.

This adds a new digests() predicate for creatures with AT_ENGL+AD_DGST
(purple worm) and also enfolds() for AT_ENGL+AD_WRAP (both 't'-class
critters).

There are several minor fixes mixed in with this. I didn't record
them as I went along but the two I remember are
1) if poly'd into a holder and holding on to a monster, the '<' and
'>' commands refursed to work; release the held creature first
   and then treat those commands as normal;
2) throwing a non-weapon while engulfed by an ochre jelly reported
"the <item> vanishes into the ochre jelly's /currents/".

This needs a lot more testing. I found and fixed multiple minor
details before my own testing burned out.

ddce73502e Improve feedback for trying to bribe the watch
Members of the watch can never be bribed, no matter how much gold is
thrown at them, but when a bribe was attempted they would say "that's
not enough" (implying incorrectly some higher amount would be enough to
pacify them). Also, an already-peaceful mercenary would take on an
unusually aggressive tone when given any amount of gold, giving the
player the same message to "beat it" as when a bribe succeeds in
pacifying them.

Adjust the mercenary bribery code a bit so that a more friendly message
is given if the monster is already peaceful, and so that unbribeable
monsters don't imply they are just not being given enough gold. I think
the actual effects of bribery shouldn't be affected by this commit, just
the messages/feedback.

30b557f7d5 change xchar to other typedefs
One of the drivers of this change was that screen coordinates require a
type that can hold values greater than 127. Parameters to the window
port routines require a large type in order to be able to have values
a fair bit larger than COLNO and ROWNO passed to them, particularly for
their use to the right of the map window.

This splits the uses of xchar into 3 different situations, and adjusts
their type and size:

                        xchar
                          |
               -----------------------
               | | |
            coordxy xint16 xint8

coordxy: Actual x or y coordinates for various things (moved to 16-bits).

xint16: Same data size as coordxy, but for non-coordinate use (16-bits).

xint8: There are only a few use cases initially, where it was very
plain to see that the variable could remain as 8-bits, rather
than be bumped to 16-bits. There are probably more such cases
that could be changed after additional review.

Note: This first changed all xchar variables to coordxy. Some were
reviewed and got changed to xint16 or xint8 when it became apparent that
their usage was not for coordinates.

This increments EDITLEVEL in patchlevel.h

d1b5b39e6d Martial arts users never deal no damage with a clumsy kick
From EvilHack, under the basis that anyone trained in martial arts (or

Note that this only averts the "Your clumsy kick does no damage" case:
it remains possible for a powerfully kicking player to kick clumsily and
have the monster evade or block, for example if they are fumbling or
wearing bulky armor.

Also, documentation: I added a comment explaining what the incredibly
